90% of all UK web users are now on broadband
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has issued new figures which reveal that broadband has been adopted by almost 90% of all UK web users.
According to the ONS in September 88.4% of all UK web connections were made via broadband; up from 86.2% in June this year.
The report, which surveyed ISPs, said connections were up by 8.1% on the same period in 2006, and that 45.2% were between 2Mbps and 8Mbps.
Currently only 4% of all connections are in excess of 8Mbps.
